Heat pump installation in Mandello del Lario and the province of Lecco

Want to know whether a heat pump makes sense in your home?

Not every house is ready for a heat pump, and saying so beforehand is part of the job. We assess the building, the emitters and the hot water production, then propose a full heat pump, a full heat-pump system, a hybrid solution, or a different approach altogether.

What we do

How we work on a heat pump

Air-to-water heat pumps

Monobloc or split units sized on the real heat demand, with the outdoor unit positioned with noise, space and the condensate drain in mind.

Hybrid systems

A heat pump alongside the boiler: the heat pump works through the milder season and the boiler covers the cold peaks. It is often the right choice in uninsulated buildings.

Upgrading the emitters

Replacing radiators, or adding fan coils or underfloor panels, where low-temperature operation alone is not enough.

Domestic hot water

Production with a dedicated cylinder or a heat pump water heater, sized on the number of bathrooms and the household's habits.

Integration with solar PV

The installation is prepared to work with a photovoltaic system, so the electricity generated feeds the heating and the hot water.

Weather-compensated controls

Heating curve and outdoor sensor: controls that are not set correctly can significantly increase running costs and reduce the efficiency of the system.

Before the quotation

What we assess before proposing a heat pump

These are the same checks we suggest to anyone who comes to us after getting a quotation elsewhere: without these answers, a quotation is just a number.

  • The characteristics of the building: age, construction, floor area and the volumes to be heated.
  • The level of insulation: external insulation, windows, roof and basement.
  • The type of existing emitters and the temperature they run at today.
  • The space available for the outdoor unit and for a cylinder, if one is needed.
  • The household’s domestic hot-water demand and the space available for a cylinder.
  • Whether a photovoltaic system is present or planned.
  • Whether a full heat pump or a hybrid system with the existing boiler makes more sense.
  • The electrical supply capacity available at the meter.

Frequently asked questions about heat pumps

Will a heat pump work with my existing radiators?

Sometimes it will, if the radiators are generously sized and the house is insulated. More often they need to be added to or replaced in some rooms: we check this room by room before quoting.

Does the whole system have to be replaced?

No, not always. In many houses the existing pipework stays and the work is limited to the heat source, the critical emitters and the controls.

Can it be used with solar panels?

Yes: pairing it with a photovoltaic system can increase the share of self-generated electricity you use and reduce what you draw from the grid, because your own production feeds the heating and the hot water. We prepare the installation so it can work that way even if the panels come later.

When does a hybrid system make sense?

When the house is not sufficiently insulated or the emitters run at high temperature: the heat pump covers most of the season and the boiler takes over on the coldest days.

Where does the outdoor unit go?

Somewhere well ventilated, with suitable condensate drainage and away from windows and bedrooms because of the noise. We decide the position together during the site visit.

Is the site visit free?

Yes, for installations and renovation work. With a heat pump it is essential: nothing can be sized without seeing the house.
